Hello All,
Well, I'm finally ready. 46 years old, have been natural since 1999 and now ready to loc my hair. Sisterlocks of course! I have studied and researched and watched 2 of my good girlfriends make the transition and now it's my turn. I figure I can do this for the next 3 and 1/2 years and when I turn 50 if I hate it I will just cut it all off. I don't think I'm going to hate it though. I am truly looking forward to the whole experience. I have read so many inspiring stories and I want a story too....... So welcome to my journey.
I have seen 1 consultant so far and she placed 2 test locs in my hair on Friday, Nov 30,2007. I am seeing another tomorrow. I must make sure that I have the experience with the right person. I am extremely particular about my hair (as I am sure most women are). I will let everyone know who and when. I would like to have them in prior to Jan 2008 but..... if I have to wait, I will.
I look forward to posting and creating a photo gallery as many of you have and have been my source of inspiration. Thank you all for being so creative and willing to share yourselves with others who want to take this journey. I now invite you to join me on mine.
Until next time......
Peace to all

Hey Wendi: I had no idea that locking was such a process. I thought you put some twistees in and just left them. I'm proud of you. We as black women have such issues with our hair. I'm going thru it now with my 7 y.o. granddaughter who wants long flowing hair that blows in the wind. That ain't what the creator gave her and trying to help her find the beauty in the hair she has been blessed with has been more than a challenge. This is also my first experience with blogging as I don't really know what that is either. So I'm ready to learn and experience all this new stuff with you. Plus it's a way to stay in touch since I won't see you again until 2008 sometime. Here's to new experiences, the joys of growing and changing and learning and "doing you"!
Wendi, you look absolutely Fabulous I would never put you @ 50 and your doing a great job on your blogspot, looks way better than mines one day soon when I find some time I'm going to hook it up, congrats on the move to sisterlocks it is a journey indeed!I'm only out the barn by 3 months and I have had some challenges mainly slippage, but I LOVE my locks and just watching them go thru their little changes is cool..
Happy Locking!!!
Wendi, your blog is off to a great start. You are definitely fabulous at 40 (something). I can't wait to see your Sisterlocks and I am sure that your lock journey will be splendid.
WOW! So you are finally ready. I'm curious how you decided on the sister locks. I know you were considering both those and the traditional locks.
I love your blog! Your photos are hot! Tell your DH that he is a hot photographer!
I'm looking forward to sharing your journey. I love new and exciting adventures!
